In this episode, John and Kelly talk about the idea that life is a state of mind. Therefore it’s critical to influence one’s mindset in one’s morning routine. In this episode John walks us through the various aspects of life. Your health – and how that is a state of mind regarding exercise, eating right, and sleep. How your marriage is a state of mind. Being flexible, patient, and thoughtful to your spouse. And making them feel loved and appreciated. Then career is discussed. John and Kelly pointed out that the entrepreneur is the biggest factor in any business. The business is a reflection of what’s going on in the entrepreneur mind. More specifically the owner’s understanding what moves the needle. Also understanding their unique strategy for success. As well as the linchpin issue to go to the next level. During this podcast the question is posed as to whether people are thinking about their mindset. Kelly points out that the vast majority of people are just getting up and doing life. Not even thinking about their mindset. Only 2% of people do that. At the end of the podcast John points out the ideal morning routine to impact one’s success in life. It takes 12 minutes a day. Feeding the succinct articulation of your life to yourself each day.

John Mitchell

John’s story is pretty amazing. After spending 20 years as an entrepreneur, John was 50 years old but wasn’t as successful as he thought he should be. To rectify that, he decided to find the “top book in the world” on SUCCESS and apply that book literally Word for Word to his life. That Book is Think & Grow Rich. The book says there’s a SECRET for success, but the author only gives you half the secret. John figured out the full secret and a 12 minute a day technique to apply it.

When John applied his 12 minute a day technique to his life, he saw his yearly income go to over $5 million a year, after 20 years of $200k – 300k per year. The 25 times increase happened because John LEVERAGED himself by applying science to his life.

John Mitchell:

Hey. And I'm John Michell. So Kelly, here's the topic today. Life is a state of mind. Now, what do you think about that?

Kelly Hatfield:

I'm mind blown. This is a big, I started to get into this, this is a big topic,

John Mitchell:

I'm sure that you're not going to disagree with Oh, my God. Well, you know, as we roll into this, let's let's influence our audience by asking them questions and making them think you know what I mean, instead of just telling them what we think, let's, let's encourage y'all a little introspective thinking. As I look back on my life, I think the most impactful thing I ever learned was, how the human mind works. And I see that that I can articulate that in under three minutes. And then maybe two more minutes to explain how to take that knowledge and apply it to create the exceptional life. And all that sort of blows me away that it's as simple as it as it is. Would you agree with that? Oh, yeah,

Kelly Hatfield:

No, it's, it's, it is simple, that's for sure. And that's one of your superpowers, too, is being able to take something that feels big, Brian, distill it down to its simplest form. And so I'm excited to hear what you have to say here.

John Mitchell:

So think about this. So lives the state of mind. Well, okay, let's dig into that. Your health is a state of mind. Because your your health is determined by what you think about eating, exercising, getting enough sleep, you know, all that is a state of mind. And that state of mind then reflects the actions that you take. Same thing with your your marriage, you know, your marriage is a state of mind. Do you know, do you have the state of mind that makes sure your spouse feel loved and appreciated? Do you have the state of mind to deal with it when your spouse says something irritating? Or there's a challenge? What do you think about that? Do you buy that? The life is a state of mind?

Kelly Hatfield:

Yeah, I think I need more. When you say state of mind, right? What exactly, I guess I'm just helping me and the listeners wrap our heads around a little bit more and what that I'm not when you say Do you buy that? I guess I'm trying to understand exactly what it is what you mean by state of mind.

John Mitchell:

Right? Well, I guess I see that, you know, before you, you know, our success in life is determined by our daily actions. And our daily actions are determined by our thoughts. Therefore, you know, your state of mind is creating the thoughts that create the actions is that uh, yeah, better?

Kelly Hatfield:

Yep. Perfect. Yeah. Okay, on the same page, and I just needed a little I get it, because we talk so much right here that those listening, you know, really are understanding what it is you're saying. So 100%, you know, you just gave those examples about your health, about your marriage? Absolutely. It's all a state of mind, you know, your, your entire life is is the thoughts that you're thinking about your life.

John Mitchell:

Right. Right. And so, you know, and then, you know, let's look at career, again, state of mind, and if you know, if you're an entrepreneur, boy, your business is is clearly a reflection of who you are, and what's going through your head. And I see that that you know, how that really specifically applies to your career is, you know, can you articulate what moves needle in your business? Can you articulate your strategy for success? can you articulate what the linchpin issue to go to the next level is? And I see that by proper training of the mind and understanding how the mind works. You can you can influence your thoughts and that influences your actions. And those actions create the life you want. Again, it's so profoundly simple.

Kelly Hatfield:

Yes, absolutely.

John Mitchell:

But also see, you know, as with our audience, you know, just think about that, you know, think about that, if if you buy that, that life is a state of mind. And I think most people will agree that it that it is, but What surprises me is only about two people 2% of the population does anything to impact their their mindset. And so I think the disconnect, and I welcome your opinion on this, but the, the disconnect is people go Sure, it's a state of mind. Yet, most people don't do anything to impact their mindset in their morning routine. And my bet is the reason they don't do it is two reasons. They didn't fully connect the dots there, and they don't know what to do. Right? What do you think about that? Yep, I

Kelly Hatfield:er or move out or zoom out to:John Mitchell:

Yeah. No, that's a great point. I mean, you know, it's, it's easy for me to think about it. Relative to my, where my life is today. And, and where I'm at, but your boy, you are, right, they're not thinking about it at all. And I see that, you know, my life changed. When I, when I turned 50. And I felt that scarcity of time. And I think your your life sort of changed when you were frustrated. But when we met, you know, I maybe provided the missing piece that you were looking for, but I see that most people, like you say they're just going 90 miles an hour, and they never stopped to think is the way I'm doing life working.

Kelly Hatfield:

Yes. I think that's the beginning part. So when you're talking about, you know, they know this, but to and I think they do at a level, when we talk about it like this, they're like, Yeah, that makes sense. But it isn't, it may be the first time they've ever thought about it. You know, and so there's that that's why I think so few people are doing it, because you know, really doing something that influences their daily actions, because they haven't made the connection between those things, because they're not thinking about it, and they don't have a John in their life, you know, that has brought this to them. And I think, too, you made a really good point about an inflection point in your life at 50. Or like where I was at in my career where I was really frustrated. I think you there also are those pivotal moments in your life where you're ready. Yeah, to write, and to and to do the work. And I think that's, that's where you can make the greatest gains here and what we're talking about,

John Mitchell:

Yeah, that's a great point, she got to you gotta be ready. And so you know, I again, let's try and influence our audience with questions is, and the question would be to the audience is, do you like how your life is going? Are you are you happy with your marriage? Are you happy with your ability to control your health? Are you happy with your career? And, and just think about that? Is the answer, yes or no. And I see, one of the things that amazes me. And of course, I did this too, and you did to most people, they are just winging it. They're winning in this life. They get up every day, and they're on the treadmill. And they're, they're winging it, they don't have any special way of doing life. They're just, you know, waking up and getting on the treadmill again, and, and that's the thing I would encourage our audience to, to question the wisdom of that, you know, it's the alternative is to have a morning routine, where you create this Saying articulation of your desired life, and you feed it to yourself every day. And it takes 12 minutes a day, you know, that's a methodology for doing life, whereas most people truly are just winging it, when you agree, Oh, yeah. 100%

Kelly Hatfield:er of the fact is, John, that:John Mitchell:

Right? Well, and I think obviously, most people would, would say no, and a lot of people would say, hell no, exactly. And, and, you know, I see that changing, whatever you're doing is a function of how dissatisfied you are with what's going on. And like, as Darren Hardy pointed out to me, he says, you know, only about 2% of people are really driven where more success is, is a necessity, rather than a preference. And so, I think what you have largely with the population is that, you know, no, they're not happy. But it's not that big a deal. It just not that big a deal. But you know, to the people that are driven, and they start thinking about this, if you're in our audience, and you'd really are a driven person, and you you ask yourself that question, Am I happy with the life I'm creating? That driven personal, probably go? No, show me how to do it different. And, but it's that that motivation, that ultimately pushes people to do something different than they're currently doing?

Kelly Hatfield:

Yeah, absolutely. There's always seems like there's that, you know, there's that thing, there's that pivotal point, you know, somebody's in enough pain to be like, show me the, you know, show me the way I'm ready to hear it, or it's the right time in my life, whatever the case may be.

John Mitchell:

Right, right. You know, one final thing I'll share, I've been reading Tony Robbins and Peter Diamandis, his book, lifeforce, and boy, I tell you, I am blown away by all the things that are coming in, in health that are really close, I was reading that they are in stage three clinical trials for a cure for arthritis. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Because to Cure Arthritis to get to grow new ligaments, and, and then the next thing they're they're doing is growing kidneys, and livers. And they as a way through the same methodology to cure cancer. And so that's just one example of, of all the stuff that is enhanced with AI and how quickly things are moving. And and so I would encourage our audience to read this book lifeforce, because once you read it, it sort of gives you a whole new lease on life, you know, I mean, it's really powerful.
